WSL presented a live Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) demonstration at IEEE GlobeCom 2025, held in Taipei, Taiwan, from December 8 to 12, 2025. The demonstration showcased a real-time ISAC testbed, highlighting ISAC as a key enabling technology for future 6G systems. Developed in collaboration with the global industry partner TMYTEK, the testbed integrates radar sensing with the standard OFDM communication waveform OFDM within a unified hardware and software framework.
The system generates real-time distance-angle radar images where the bright spots indicate potential objects in the environment. By demonstrating this radar-like functionality using a communication paradigm, we show the feasibility of reusing communication networks for environment sensing in future 6G networks. This functionality is not only important for location services but also for improving communication throughput with better beam management needed in mmWave.

This demonstration served as a proof-of-concept for bistatic sensing in ISAC systems, and provided valuable insights into the practical deployment challenges and performance trade-offs of ISAC systems. Through this work, the WSL Lab demonstrated its capabilities in end-to-end system design, real-time prototyping, and experimental validation of advanced wireless technologies, contributing to ongoing international research efforts toward 6G-era integrated systems.
We extend our sincere appreciation and congratulations to Adam Dubs, Juhyun Moon, and Seunghoon Han for their dedication and efforts in making this demonstration a success. We also express our special thanks to Prof. Sunwoo Kim for his leadership and continuous support.
